The man, who was not identified because it’s unknown if his next of kin had been notified yet, was taking a preliminary look at the high school’s new football field renovations, said Gail Pinsker, Hart district spokeswoman.
“It’s sad to hear this happened,” Pinkser said, “and our thoughts are with the inspector’s family.”
The death was not a result of an on-site accident; it’s believed to have been caused by a medical issue unrelated to his work on the campus, officials said.
“It appears to be natural causes,” said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, adding the man reportedly died in the parking lot while school was in session.
The Hart district is wrapping up more than $1 million in upgrades to the football facilities at Canyon High School.
