Southwest Tour Trucks Return To Kern County Raceway Park

PRESS RELEASE | Steven Blakesley

Kern County Raceway Park, fueled by Monster Energy, will see the return of the Southwest Tour Trucks to the half-mile as part of Saturday’s Allstate Reality Rides Night at the Races.  NASCAR CITGO Lubricants Late Models Twin 35s, INEX Legends, INEX Bandoleros, and NASCAR Mini Stocks will also race on the busy night.

Allstate Insurance will display its Reality Rides simulator that will be available to everyone driving-age attending races.  Simulations demonstrate the potential consequences distracted drivers could face while on the road. To add impact to the simulations, participants are given traffic “tickets” that reveal potential infractions a driver could receive if the experience happened in real life. Southwest Tour Trucks

The Southwest Tour Trucks make their second ever appearance on the KCRP half-mile, after a race last June that was won by Neil Conrad.  The touring division recently raced at Las Vegas Bullring with a dominating win by Ronnie Davis, while points leader Zack Green has won four races this year including three times at Irwindale Speedway.  A 35 lap feature is on tap along with a trophy dash.

NASCAR CITGO Lubricants Late Models continue their battle for NASCAR state and national points with twin 35 lap races.  Brian Richardson leads the points with six victories with Johnny White, Eric Richardson, and most recently Lance Wilson as the other race winners.  Brian Richardson leads Wilson by 22 points and also ranks in the top-five in the state of California as part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.

INEX Bandoleros are also scheduled to race on the quarter-mile for their second straight race after being a part of the “Fireworks Extravaganza” last week.  2013 champion Tyler Bannister leads the 2014 standings as well.

Another close battle is in the NASCAR Mini Stock division where Randy Smith has used three wins to pad a 16 point advantage over rookie Stacy Evans.  Terry Pettit, Eric Aldridge, and Rachel Fine round out the top-five in the points with a 30 lap race scheduled.
