Female students at all Santa Clarita high schools and colleges can now apply for the SCV Zonta Club’s “Young Women in Public Affairs” scholarship award.
The Young Women in Public Affairs award is given for community service, leadership and knowledge of women’s issues in the world today.
Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 19 and demonstrate a commitment to leadership in public policy, government and volunteer organizations. Since the program began, Zonta International has given more than 650 awards to young women from more than 50 countries.

The local winner receives $1,000 and advances to District 9 competition, where another $1,000 award is granted to the winner. The district winner represents us in international competition, where the 10 top candidates will receive $4,000 each.
