The event begins with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Hyatt Regency in Valencia. The main ceremony begins at 7 p.m. and will feature speakers and entertainers from Latin America, Europe, Asia and North America. Guests will be able to enjoy a gourmet meal, award presentations and a dance floor open to all.
Recognition will be awarded to member businesses for “Community Lead of the Year,” “Entrepreneur of the Year,” “Nonprofit of the Year” and “Corporate Sponsor of the Year.”
“We are very excited to present this great event to our city that has quite a diverse population,” said Gloria Mercado-Fortine, co-chairwoman for the Gala. “I was born and raised here in the Santa Clarita Valley, and I can’t remember a more encouraging time for the future of our community.”
The event is being sponsored by Southern California Edison and Henry Rodriguez State Farm Insurance, companies that are, themselves, committed to promoting and embracing diversity.
“I am very excited to co-chair of this year’s event and most importantly to help our chamber get to the next level in terms of memberships and supporters,” Rodriguez said. “By doing this, we can have a greater impact in the lives of our future Latino leaders in the Santa Clarita Valley.”
The SCV Latino Chamber of Commerce exists to promote the success and prosperity of Latino business owners and professionals and to contribute to the well-being of the community.
“Our chamber is now part of the Alliance of Multicultural Entrepreneurs,” said Chamber CEO Bill Miranda, “and is committed to embracing the diversity that exists in Santa Clarita.”
