“Domestic violence does not discriminate- it affects women, children and men across various socioeconomic structures throughout every neighborhood and community in the valley. Thousands of families now have lives free of domestic violence,” said Linda Davies, director of the SCV Domestic Violence Center.
Officials of the Domestic Violence Center will be hosting a 30th anniversary celebration at the Real Life Church’s Savialocation.
“In this 30th Anniversary Celebration, we thank the Santa Clarita Valley for supporting the only domestic violence center in the 200-square-miles that encompass the SCV and surrounding areas,” Davies said.
The celebration will be on August 24th from 4 p.m. through 6 p.m. where music, refreshments, appetizers, and the premiere of a documentary that tells the story of the Domestic Violence Center will be provided.
The SCV Domestic Violence Center is also looking for sponsors. The sponsor form is located here.
Donations are greatly appreciated and can be made here.
“We hope to see you there,” Davies said.
About The SCV Domestic Violence Center
The Domestic Violence Center (DVC) of Santa Clarita Valley provides safety and support to victims of domestic violence while working to break the cycle of abuse. We primarily offer shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and activities to support increased economic opportunities for victims. We endeavor to increase community awareness about domestic violence issues and bring about societal change through education and public policy advocacy.
We believe that everyone deserves to live a life free of violence. Our vision is that all people will take personal responsibility to eradicate domestic violence in their own relationships and families and in the community at large. Domestic violence will be replaced with equality in relationships and mutual respect.
