KHTS Heading To Capitol ’13: SCV Leaders To Look At Local Issues On Road Trip

Community leaders, stakeholders and a few members of the next generation of Santa Clarita Valley leadership will be heading to Sacramento on Monday to discuss local issues with our state leaders.

The trip will talk about myriad issues relevant to the Santa Clarita Valley. 

A few of the topics that will be discussed with our policymakers at the Capitol include K-12 education, higher education, high-speed rail, our state’s budget picture, water issues, enterprise zones and business regulation and realignment.

In addition to meeting with lawmakers like Assemblyman Scott Wilk, Assemblyman Bob Blumenfield, Assemblywoman Diane Harkey and Assemblyman Jeff Gorrell, among others who will be addressing these topics, there will also be keynote speech with state Controller John Chiang.

KHTS will be talking to community members throughout the trip to get their impressions of what’s going on in Sacramento so stay tuned to AM-1220 KHTS to catch the dialogue with state leaders and find out what they think about issues important to the Santa Clarita Valley.
