Several changes to national healthcare policies, as part of the Affordable Care Act, became effective January 1, and many more are expected in the months and years to come. To help members of the community understand the relevance of these new laws and policies, the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce is holding a seminar at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia, Thursday, February 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.“The Ins and Outs of the Affordable Health Care Act: What it Means to You” will feature guest speakers Brian Koegle of Poole & Shaffrey, Haley Wiener of L/B/W Insurance & Financial Services and Joan Buck-Plassmeyer of Los Robles Homecare Services, who will discuss how the changes will affect both business owners and consumers.

While several changes are expected through 2015, most recently healthcare consumers can expect additional funding for Medicaid and “bundling” hospital fees and other healthcare providers.
Tickets to the Chamber event are $45 each. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. If you are interested in attending, call 661-702-6977 or email info@scvchamber.com for more information. Click here to register.
