Saugus Man ID’ed In Suspected Suicide Tuesday Night

Officials with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office released the identification of a man who is believed to have killed himself Tuesday night.

Victor Beres, 61, of Saugus, was identified as the man found dead on the 20700 block of Plum Canyon Road on Saugus, according to Coroner’s officials.

“Doctors are doing the examination today,” according to an official with the Coroner’s Office. 

The body was found in a parking lot near the intersection of Plum Canyon Road and Bouquet Canyon Road  

A determination on the cause of death is expected to follow shortly thereafter.

Sheriff’s Departmert released no details regarding the incident, only to say that it was initially reported as a suicide shortly after 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department official said the department does not conduct interviews or give out information about suicides.

“We don’t give news releases or interviews on suicides, it’s department policy,” said Deputy Pope of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Homicide Detective Labbe was called out to investigate the incident, according to Homicide Bureau officials, but he was not available for comment Wednesday.
