District Superintendent Joan Lucid said, “Mr. Hammitt comes to Saugus with a strong educational and human resources background and we are confident that he will be a welcome and strong addition to our management team.”
Hammitt will focus on communication and collaboration to support and further SUSD’s ongoing student success.
“SUSD has a track record of ongoing student achievement and my goal is to keep that continued focus and work collaboratively to assist Board and Superintendent in moving the district forward,” he said.
Hammitt joins the district in June and will immediately begin his new assignment by meeting with the district’s major stakeholders, visiting all of the school sites, and developing an action plan that will address both the district’s short and long-term goals.
