Touch-A-Truck will give attendees the chance to check out emergency vehicles, antique fire engines and cars featured in films, among others.

The event starts 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Admission is $5 and tickets purchased online are $4. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward funds for respite day care, home delivered meals and programs and support services at the SCV Senior Center.

In honor of Father’s Day weekend, any dad who brings his child receives free admission.

Children attending the event can enjoy costumed characters, magic, face painting, receive tips on fire safety from Smokey Bear and experience a simulated earthquake at the Shakey Quakey Schoolhouse.

Lowe’s will conduct a series of Kids Clinics, helping children 5 years and older build a wooden model of the “luxury attack vehicle” from Madagascar 3.

City Councilwoman Marsha McLean will also be in attendance and is serving as the event chair.

“Kids love vehicles,” McLean said, “and now they will be able to touch their favorite things on wheels.”

She said that the event will offer a close-up look at construction rigs, fire engines, sheriff’s cars, military vehicles, famous film industry cars, a TV news van, race cars and “nearly anything you can think of.”

Food trucks will offer meals and treats to purchase, and soft drinks and bottled water also will be available for sale.
