Deputies are looking for a white, 28-year-old man with “spiky hair, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.

“It’s an active crime scene right now,” Wood said, “near Sierra Highway and Soledad Canyon Road. People should stay away.”

Canine units are assisting in looking for the suspect. No deputies were wounded in the shooting, Wood said.

The suspect is believed to have a black semiautomatic pistol, Wood said.

The shooting took place ear Sara Bandee Road and Dolan Street, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

No one is allowed in or out of the Sheriff Station’s containment area up Sierra Highway, near Sara Bandee and Sherzinger roads, according to the Sheriff Station’s Twitter feed.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Station in Lancaster have come down to assist in the search.

Traffic in the area is being redirected, according to Sheriff’s Station officials. Deputies are looking for a suspect in the wash, in that area and in the area near the  American Beauty condo complex.

No further details, including what prompted the incident, are available at this time. No suspects are in custody yet.

Anyone with information about the incident should call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
