The Santa Clarita stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participated in a California-wide Mormon Helping Hands event Saturday by helping out at 10 Saugus Union School District schools.
Mark Elsebusch, a liaison for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was overseeing the improvements at Bridgeport Elementary School and said he was happy to see the schools benefitting from the time of the volunteers.
“There is joy in service and there are benefits to the giver and the receiver,” Elsebusch said. “We are able to benefit from serving, but we are also able to benefit the school.”
