A 2014 survey conducted by officials at the personal finance social network WalletHub recently named Santa Clarita among the top cities for families in America.

Santa Clarita came in at No. 21, ranking far above other nearby cities.
WalletHub officials named Los Angeles No. 109, Glendale No. 68, Oxnard No. 37 and San Diego No. 27, according to a list at WalletHub.com.
“The City of Santa Clarita is dedicated to providing quality services and amenities for residents of all ages, and we are proud to be recognized as one of America’s best cities for families,” said Mayor Laurene Weste. “The city’s efforts, combined with our exceptional public safety, beautiful neighborhoods, award-winning schools and top notch recreational opportunities, are just some of the many reasons why so many families choose to call Santa Clarita home.”

For the 2014 survey, WalletHub officials ranked the 150 largest cities in the United States based on series of family dynamics, including the availability of quality jobs, the relative cost of housing, the quality of local school and health care systems and the opportunities for fun and recreation.
Santa Clarita ranked highest in the health category, coming in at No. 10.
“Wallet Hub is a social media company that allows people to search for and compare financial products and interact with a community interested in making smarter financial decisions,” according to an article on Forbes Magazine’s website.
