Santa Clarita Libraries To Host Authors Of Book On Local History

In September 2012, local authors Dr. Alan Pollack, Kim Stephens and E.J. Stephens released their new book "Legendary Locals of the Santa Clarita Valley" as part of the Legendary Locals series put out by Arcadia Publishing.

The authors are coming to Santa Clarita libraries next week to discuss the history of our area while telling tales of colorful characters found throughout the region’s past. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

This free event will be hosted from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Canyon Country Library and Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Valencia Library.

“The Santa Clarita Public Library is committed to promoting literacy and engaging residents through fun activities and innovative programs,” said Mayor Bob Kellar. “This author event is a fun, interactive way for community members to learn more about the Santa Clarita Valley and the rich history behind our growing City.”

Sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library, the author events are part of series of programs designed to build interest in books and reading through workshops and discussions with published writers.

The Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library are an active group of Santa Clarita residents who volunteer, advocate and fundraise to meet the needs of the Santa Clarita Public Library.
