Santa Clarita City Council members are expected to OK a posting of their list of appointments Tuesday at their regular meeting at City Hall, according to the city’s agenda.

The appointments are spots on the city’s various commissions, including the Planning Commission, the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission, the Arts Commission, the Open Space Preservation District’s audit panel and the Board of Trustees for the city’s library system.

The listings are not new appointments, but an annual list that is posted each year in accordance with “the Maddy Act,” according to city documents.

The act states: “On or before December 31 of each year, each legislative body shall prepare an appointments list of all regular and ongoing boards, commissions, and committees which are appointed by the legislative body of the local agency. This list shall be known as the Local Appointments List.”

The list is intended to increase transparency, as it indicates who sits on what commission, and who is responsible for each appointment.
