Rollover Crash Injures One, Closes San Francisquito Canyon Road

One person was injured after a single-vehicle rollover crash that left San Francisquito Canyon Road temporarily closed near Copper Hill Drive Friday night, authorities said.

The driver of the vehicle “appeared to have blood on him” and was transported to a local hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department officials, said California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada.

No further information on the extent of the driver’s injuries or the cause of the crash was available Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. on the 28000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road, north of Copper Hill near Jump for Joy Ranch, said Supervising Fire Dispatcher Cheryl Sims.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies and CHP officers responded to the crash, which occurred on a curve in the road, she said.

CHP officers closed San Francisquito Canyon Road between Low Ridge and Copper Hill at 7:11 p.m. and reopened it later that night.
