Santa Clarita's 15th annual Relay for Life starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th at Central Park.

The Relay is a 24-hour event that ends Sunday, May 19 at 9 a.m. Teams commit to keeping at least one member walking on the track, to raise funds for ASC and as a reminder of the fact that “cancer never sleeps.”

The event officially begins with a special Survivor’s Lap, in honor of those who have survived their battle with cancer.

“(It’s) a fantastic event for any survivor to celebrate life,” said cancer survivor and attendee at the luncheon Judy Beedles. “I had four surgeries myself. Here is a feeling of care.”

The Santa Clarita Relay for Life is the largest in Southern California, and the third largest among 420 relays in the state.

These events provide 50 percent of ASC’s operating budget.
