The search for a summer job continues, and the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center located in the College of the Canyons University Center wants to help match applicants with potential employers.

Their last recruitment event for the summer is scheduled for Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Beef O’Brady’s restaurant is hiring cooks, servers and bartenders.

Applications will be accepted and interviews conducted on a first come, first serve basis. Those interested in applying should bring a resume, valid photo identification and an original Social Security card to the event.

There will be a separate application process for anyone with previous bartending experience.

Several workshop events are also planned this month.

Every Tuesday at 2 p.m., the WorkSource Center holds an orientation to provide resources and connections to potential employees.

There is also a “Demystifying Staffing Agencies” workshop on Thursday. Staffmark employees will explain the purpose of a staffing agency in helping people find work and how to best utilize it in a job search.

A “Mid to Executive Level Employment Job Search” workshop will be held on Thursday, June 27, with information on how to create and revise an effective resume or cover letter, as well as how to conduct an effective search for employment. Susan Reynolds from NewMarket Careers will lead the session.
