“I am honored to be appointed to serve on these two important committees,” Wilk said. “I will continue to work with my colleagues across the aisle to alleviate burdensome regulations on California businesses and promote a tolerant campus culture.”
The governmental organization committee’s responsibilities include alcohol regulation, Indian gaming, gambling, tobacco, public records, open meetings laws, state holidays, outdoor advertising and emergency services or natural disasters.
The Select Committee on Campus Climate was created to collaborate with collegiate campuses to re-evaluate diversity programs and safety measures within on-campus housing and throughout the university.
In addition to the new committee assignments, Wilk continues as a member of the Standing Committees on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media; Business, Professions and Consumer Protection; and Higher Education. He serves as Vice Chair of Rules Committee.
He is also a member of the Select Committees on Biotechnology; Addressing out of School, Unemployed Youth; Community Colleges; Status of Boys and Men of Color in California; and Youth and California’s Future.
The state Assembly reconvened on Monday, Jan. 6 after the winter holidays and adjourns for summer recess on July 3.
