Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies at the scene reported that it was a suspected arson, but are unsure of the exact cause at this time.

“It was probably started by someone throwing a match,” said Sgt. Cortland Myers of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Fire Station 107 was called out to inspect the vehicle Monday morning when the owner found it.

“It happened overnight and nobody reported the car fire,”  said Myers

Deputies are waiting for arson investigators to retrieve the vehicle and continue the investigation.
