Juan Ortiz, a civilian laundry supervisor at Pitchess Detention Center, South Facility, was arrested and charged with bringing narcotics into a jail facility, a felony.

Ortiz was booked Tuesday at 5 a.m., at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, where he is being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Ortiz, 55, was an employee of the Sheriff’s Department for 13 years, assigned to the laundry detail.

Ortiz was arrested at Pitchess Detention Center, South Facility, by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Internal Criminal Investigations Bureau personnel after a brief investigation.

After he was arrested, Ortiz resigned from the Sheriff’s Department.
