Over 1,300 College of the Canyons students graduated on Friday at the Valencia COC Campus.

“This is the largest graduating class we’ve ever had” said Chancellor Dianne G. Van Hook.
Speakers included Dr. Michael Wilding, Dr. Renard Thomas, Michael Kramer, Megan Dinsmore, Natalie Mendoza, Ally Kidd, Justin Tillit, Aidan Munoz-Went, Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook, Edel Alonso, Sydney Shanks, Joe Gerda, Casey Jennerson, Kristina Smolenski and Michael Berger.
Performances included the College of the Canyons Studio Jazz Ensemble for the Processional and Recessional.
More than 77 majors were represented.
The oldest graduate is 68 and the youngest is 17.
17 students had a perfect 4.0 GPA and more than 250 of the graduates had more than a 3.5 and were considered Honors Graduates.
62 people in the graduating class are employees of College of the Canyons.
There were 30 international students, 15 PACE students, 105 DSP&S students, 51 EOPS students, and 39 Veterans that graduated in the 2013 class.
After all of the graduates had received their diplomas, butterflies were released to signify the ending of the ceremony and celebration of the graduates.
