On Monday morning, the Baby Jesus figurine from the Nativity display in the Patios at the Westfield Valencia Town Center was reported missing.
“Of course all we are looking for is for him to be returned safely, no questions asked,” she said.
They are also reviewing security footage of the area for any clues about what might have happened to the Baby Jesus figurine.
This is the not the first year that Baby Jesus has disappeared from the Nativity scene at the mall. Even private Nativity displays have not been immune.
“It has happened in the past,” House said. “To my knowledge, one other time.”
As many as a dozen Baby Jesus figurines were stolen in 2007 before turning up at a local Catholic church, according toCatholicLeague.org.
