The Master’s College Celebrates 86th Commencement At COC

Hundreds of family members and friends gathered at the College of the Canyons Cougar Stadium for The Master’s College’s 86th Commencement Service on Friday, May 10.

The ceremonies honored more than 240 Bachelor’s degree and several Master’s degree recipients.

The Board of Directors also conferred two honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees to William Schlegel, professor at TMC’s Israel-Bible Extension program, and to Tom Pennington, pastor at Countryside Bible Church in Texas. 

The annual President’s Award was presented to English professor John Hotchkiss, who is retiring after more than 40 years in the college’s English department, and 37 years as its chair.

The event also featured a special performance by TMC’s vocal ensemble Majesty and a commencement address given by Pennington.
