March Madness Is Here: Louisville Earns No. 1 Seed In NCAA Tourney

The 2013 NCAA tournament bracket was unveiled on Sunday night, with Louisville earning the No. 1 overall seed.

The Cardinals defeated Syracuse on Saturday night to win the Big East title. The will play the winner of Tuesday's first round game between North Carolina AT&T and Liberty.

Kansas also earned a No. 1 seed in the South Region, while Indiana claimed the No. 1 seed in the East Region. Gonzaga earned the final No. 1 seed in the West Region.

Defending champion Kentucky was left out of the field of 68 teams, becoming the second defending NCAA champion to miss the tournament in the last four years. Maryland's absence is also one of the more notable snubs.

Duke, Georgetown and Miami (Fla.) were the most notable teams that fell short of earning a No. 1 seed. Duke is the No. 2 seed in the Midwest Region, setting up a potential Elite 8 game with top seed Louisville.

Miami, meanwhile, earned a No. 2 seed in the East Region. The Hurricanes won the ACC title on Sunday and will play Pacific in their opening NCAA tournament game.

Big Ten champion Ohio State is the No. 2 seed in the West Region and will play Iona. Georgetown earned the No. 2 seed in the South Region and will play Florida Gulf Coast University.
