Her work will be hung in the Maddy Lounge, a conference room located next to the Senate Floor Chamber.
Throughout the years, Wambsgans has received a lot of attention for her artwork. She has achieved many accolades and has won numerous awards.
She has stated that nature is one of her most consistent influences.
Her artwork hanging in the Maddy Lounge is titled “Sunset at Vasquez Rocks.”
The rock formation in “Sunset at Vasquez Rocks” is located in Santa Clarita.
“I am delighted and honored to be considered and included in such a prestigious event by Senator Steve Knight,” said artist Laura Wambsgans.
“Sunset at Vasquez Rocks” was created in 2013 for the California Contemporary Art Collection at the urging of Knight.
“His desire to highlight Vasquez Rocks, an iconic California location full of strange rock formations and rich history dovetailed beautifully with my days spent painting on location within the park. I am very thankful for the opportunity to exhibit my artwork in the state capitol building and look forward to visiting the exhibit,” Wambsgans said.
