High Wind Advisory To Affect The Santa Clarita Valley Friday Night

A strong wind advisory affecting the SCV will be in effect Friday evening through early Saturday morning according to a National Weather Service report.

Gusty northerly winds, up to 40 mph, will develop across the I-5 corridor and across the Santa Clarita Valley, including the cities of Santa Clarita, Newhall and Valencia.

Travel is not recommended for campers, trailers or permit loads from Castaic to the South Junction of SR 138, according to a CalTrans release. 

High profile vehicles are being cautioned while driving through the I-5 and Highway 14.

The wind advisory will be in effect from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday.
