Help the Children in the Santa Clarita Valley hosted a free event last Saturday for military and veterans families. Whether it’s providing food or responding to a natural disaster, the goal of Help the Children is to help make difference in the lives of needy children and their families.
About 200 veterans came to the event.
“We wanted to show that this was our way at Help the Children to say thank you for your service,” said President Roger Presgrove. “Thats what we wanted to do thank the Veterans of the Santa Clarita Valley for their service and let them know they are greatfully appreciated.”

Over the past two decades, Help the Children and Presgrove’s other nonprofit organizations have shipped more than $900 million in relief aid to people in 12 states and 52 countries around the world — and that includes aid to kids and families here in the Santa Clarita Valley via Help the Children’s food pantry in the Valencia Industrial Center.
Help the Children in SCV donated two large semi trucks full of Home Depot sheds, barbecues, tools, supplies and more, to veterans and active military members.
Help The Children officials are honored to thank veterans for their service, and hope the public will spread the word to those who would like free home-improvement items.
