The students have each chosen to represent a historical figure who has made “a significant and positive contribution to mankind,” according to a Newhall School District news release.

The students are set to pose as their chosen figures and put on performances in their costumes with the use of accessories.

“The students learn a lot about the character’s childhood, background, important contributions to history…” said Principal Laura Banda. “When they get to reenact that character, it takes on a real life of its own. I think that’s one of the most exciting things about this event, is they actually get to relive their character and perform.”

Performances will include spoken “live biographies,” giving friends and families attending the event the chance to find out “what wax figures would say if they could speak to you.”

More than 150 students are set to participate in the unique event, which is scheduled for November 5.

This is the 12th year Pico Canyon Elementary officials have hosted the Sixth Grade Wax Museum.
