“The Garage Sale benefits Heads Up and all the horses, the feeding, the tack, the care and the vet bills. All that, that is what the Garage Sale is supporting,” said Patti Paglia, an instructor with Heads Up Therapy.

The organization is a nonprofit created to provide therapy to autistic children and adults.

“Heads Up is a therapy ranch for autistic children. It is a place where people who don’t belong other places feel like the belong,” Paglia said. “It’s therapeutic; it’s a sanctuary for my volunteers as well. They really love it. They connect and they really feel like they get to make a difference here.”

Local families donated items to the Heads Up garage sale in an effort to bring in more funding.

“I always say that we’re always pieces of a puzzle looking for a place to fit,” Paglia said. “Heads Up is a place where people who normally don’t fit on the outside…find a fit here.”
