The Hart district’s annual tradition of graduating students and, in many cases, sending them off to some of the nation’s top colleges and universities, starts up again Wednesday.

This year, Hart High School is kicking off the “Pomp and Circumstance” by holding its graduation Wednesday at Cougar Stadium on College of the Canyons’ Valencia campus, and Golden Oak Adult School wraps up the celebrations at Hart High’s auditorium June 4.

For those interested in attending the ceremonies, the following is a look at the graduation schedule by school, as well as some graduation statistics for local students, which have been compiled by Gail Pinsker, spokeswoman for the William S. Hart Union High School District.

Graduation tickets are not available at the ceremony, so please contact the school ahead of time, if you’re interested in attending.

The schools are listed in the order that their graduations take place.

Hart High School

Hart High School is holding its graduation Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Cougar Stadium, which is located on the College of the Canyons’ Valencia campus.

The college hosts several of the local graduations to give as many parents, friends and family members as possible a chance to witness the educational milestone.

The Indians count 505 graduates in their senior class, and 82 Honor Scholars with a 4.0 GPA or above.

Some of the elite schools its graduates are headed to include Harvard, MIT, Naval Academy, West Point, Air Force, NYU and Carnegie Mellon.

Saugus High School

Saugus High School’s ceremony will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. It will also be hosted at Cougar Stadium.

The Centurions’ senior class has 565 graduates, with 118 Honor Scholars. Honors scholars have a GPA of 3.5 or higher at Saugus.

More than 200 students are headed to a four-year college, and another 300 will be entering community colleges, trade schools or vocational programs.

Class speaker Charles Dulac earned a 4.64 GPA, and will be attending Stanford.

Three students are headed to Cal, in Berkeley; others are going to Penn, USC, Baylor, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Fresno State Smith Camp Honors College.

Learning Post High School

Learning Post High School takes place the following evening, on Friday at 6 p.m. at Hart High School’s Auditorium.

Learning Post has 29 students taking part in its graduation ceremony.

Class speaker Victoria DeGrandis is the third of her siblings to graduate from LPHS. Victoria, her brother and sister, all had Harlan Perlman as their teacher, according to school officials.

Perlman has been at LPHS since 1981

Valencia High School

Valencia High School also is holding its graduation on Friday, at 7:30 p.m. The Vikings will graduate at Cougar Stadium.

The Viking have 694 graduates and 125 Honor Scholars, who account for nearly 20 percent of the senior class. Honors scholars have a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

The valedictorian is Arshjot Khokar, who has a 4.77 GPA, and the salutatorian is Joseph Hwang, who earned a 4.69 GPA.

West Ranch High School

West Ranch High School kicks off ceremonies for week two of graduation season, with Wildcat seniors ending their high school careers Tuesday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m. at Cougar Stadium.

The Wildcats’ class of 2013 is the largest in the district, with 729 graduating seniors, and 136 Honor Scholars.

Honors scholars have a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

Two students are headed to Yale; two are going to Princeton; two to Cornell; two to Penn; two to Stanford; one to Dartmoth; one to Air Force Academy; and one to the Julliard School of Performing Arts.

Canyon High School

Canyon High School is hosting its graduation Wednesday, May 29, at 7:30 p.m. at Cougar Stadium.

The Cowboys have 575 graduating seniors, and 56 Honor Scholars. Valedictorian Yebon Oh will be giving the commencement address.

Honors scholars have a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

Students will be heading to Cal, UCLA, Wellesley, Howard, CalTech. Several standout athletes are headed to the University of Minnesota, Pepperdine and St. Mary’s on athletic scholarships.

Golden Valley High School

The senior class of the Golden Valley High Grizzlies are graduating Thursday, May 30, at 7 p.m. at Cougar Stadium.

Golden Valley High has 530 graduates, with 54 students earning the Honor Scholars distinction. Honors scholars have a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

Sol Ah Yoo earned the honor of valedictorian.

Six graduates are going to Cal; students also are going to Georgetown, Stanford, Grinnell, Northwestern, Amhurst, West Point, Merchant Marine, Point Loma and three to Howard, Spellman and Clark.

One student plans to volunteer at an orphanage in Belize for three months following graduation.

Sequoia Charter School

On Friday, May 31, the Sequoia Charter School graduates its senior at 1 p.m. at the Child & Family Center, which is located next to the Hart district’s offices near Centre Pointe Parkway in Santa Clarita.

Sequoia counted 18 students among its graduating seniors. This is the largest class to date for the district charter school.

Academy of the Canyons

Later that evening, the Academy of the Canyons’ senior class is waving goodbye to their high school careers Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. in Cougar Stadium.

AOC has a graduation rate of 100 percent, with 111 grads, and nearly half (50) of its seniors earning the designation of Honors Scholar, with a GPA of 4.0 or higher.

This is the school’s inaugural graduating class for students who started at the school in the ninth grade, and 98 percent of students plan on attending college — 50 percent of those will do so with Science, Technology, Engineering or Math, or STEM, majors.

Six AOC seniors are headed to the University of California, Berkeley; three are going to UCLA; two are headed to Harvey Mudd; one is going to NYU; and one is going to Cal Arts.

Approximately 90 percent of the school’s graduates have completed a year or more of college as part of the Early College High School program.

Bowman High School

Bowman High School is holding its ceremony Saturday, June 1 at 5 p.m.

Bowman has  305 graduates this year, and speakers Stephen Beecher and Xiomara Lara will be giving commencement speeches.

About  85 percent of the graduates indicated they will attend COC; one student is attending Berry College; and several are attending the Art Institute.

For the last three years, Bowman has touted a 96 percent graduation rate.

School officials said Bowman students often overcome incredible odds to graduate from high school.

The continuation school’s students have had to face challenges not encounter by most teenagers, so our graduation ceremony is one of tears, joy and laughter, officials said.

And last but not least, on Tuesday June 4, Golden Oak Adult School is holding its graduations at 7 p.m. in Hart High’s Auditorium
