Residents were invited to attend the family-friendly evening event, where they met military personnel and Santa Clarita Valley first responders.

Attendees were able to view first responder and military vehicles and enjoyed food vendors and exhibitors before the tribute ceremony.

“Our theme this year was an ‘I will’ statement,” Shah said. “People (can) commit to serving their community, their family or their school in some way by writing on a whiteboard ‘I will’ and filling in the blank.”

Senator Steve Knight and City Council Member Dante Acosta both spoke at the event.

Staygreen Inc. and Nissan had employees volunteer for the day service.
