Growing Pains castGold, an 11-year Santa Clarita resident and wife of KHTS’ own Roby Marshall, starred as teenage daughter Carol Seaver in the hit family sitcom that ran from 1985 to 1992.

The cast recently got together for their first reunion in years, though Gold said that they see each other and talk on the phone fairly often.

The cast met at Alan Thicke’s ranch in the Santa Barbara area to reminisce about their “Growing Pains” days and catch up on what they are doing today.

“The whole cast (was there) except for Kirk Cameron,” Gold said.

Some in the cast have gone on to have other roles on television, and some have focused on other pursuits

Tracey Gold and Joanna KernsThicke, who played father Jason Seaver on the show, has had numerous roles and guest appearances on television, including, most recently, the movie “Cubicle Warriors” by Lumanity Productions.

He keeps busy, according to Gold.

Joanna Kerns, who played mother Maggie Seaver on the show, has recently focused more on work as a director, directing episodes of popular TV shows such as “Switched at Birth,” “Pretty Little Liars,” and “Psych.”

Clockwise from left: Jeremy Miller, Alan Thicke, Tracey Gold and Joanna KernsKirk Cameron, who played teenage son Mike Seaver, converted to evangelical Christianity while working on the show. He went on the star in the “Left Behind” trilogy and “Fireproof” by Sherwood Pictures.

Jeremy Miller played youngest son Ben Seaver, but left acting behind to pursue his passion for food. Until this summer, he was the executive chef at STK steakhouse in Atlanta, Ga., and is now focusing on his soda business, Miller’s Artisan Sodas, which features designer flavors like sweet tea, watermelon and rhubarb Thai basil.

Gold herself has been keeping busy with a family of four boys, but she still finds time occasionally to act  in TV movies and host reality programs.

The cast members have gone their separate ways, but Gold remembers her “Growing Pains” days fondly.

“It was great. It was an awesome experience,” she said. “Everyone was super nice. It was like a family… When you go through something like that together, it really bonds you…”
