“We’ve got a line, we’ve got the fire contained,” English said. “They’ve got some structure protection out there, but things are looking good,” she said.

No structures were affected by the fire, and no injuries were reported.

“We called a second alarm, which is a very large response, because of the winds,” she explained. “We had several helipcopters.”

The incident was reported at Bouquet Canyon Road, near Esquerra and Sinclair roads at around 2:30 p.m.

A containment line was announced at about 3:25 p.m.

UPDATED 3:08 p.m.
The fire is now reported as 70 percent contained, according to fire officials.

The incident has been upgraded to a second-alarm fire, which means additional engines have been called to the scene.

One structure is threatened, a home on Equerra Road, according to fire officials.

There are 21 homes near the area, according to officials.

“We are conducting evacuations right now,” said Sgt. Hernandez of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station officials.

There are no reported injuries at this time.

Fire Department officials received the call at 2:31 p.m. and arrived on the scene at 2:35 p.m.

Los Angeles County Fire Department officials described the area as having “light/med fuels,” with 20-30 mph winds in the area.
