Michele E. Buttelman was the features and entertainment editor of The Signal for 14 years. During her tenure she covered community and nonprofit news with a passion that earned her the respect of the Santa Clarita Valley.

    Don’t you love three-day weekends? I’m not exactly sure where January went, but it seems that I’ve been a week behind since Feb. 1! I hope everyone enjoys a relaxing President’s Weekend.

    Happy New Year! I realize I’m a little late offering up that traditional New Year’s greeting. I spent an extended time over the holidays up in Washington State visiting friends and family. I was able to enjoy a quick visit with an old high school friend, Kathy Pecka, an amazing breast cancer survivor and member of the GoPink!DC dragon boat team in Washington D.C. She is a true inspiration!
