Hart district officials named five new vice principals Wednesday for the 2014-15 school year. The announcement was made at the governing board meeting for the William S. Hart Union High School District.
“These positions became open following several administrative changes, including the retirement of two high school principals and a junior high school assistant principal,” according to a Hart district news release. “Four of the positions will begin effective July 1, 2014, and one will be effective on Jan. 1, 2015, following the retirement of another assistant principal.”
Hart district officials are looking at the addition of wrestling to the sports offerings for Santa Clarita Valley high school students next year as a self-sustaining program, officials said Wednesday. “There is a demonstrated high level of support for wrestling in the Santa Clarita Valley, with four local programs currently hosting more than 150 members, ages 3 to 21,” according to the William S. Hart Union High School District agenda. “Local supporters have stepped forward to offer training facilities and expertise.” It’s the second self-sustaining program the district has added in as many years, which will be seeking to follow the growth and success of lacrosse, which was added by the board in 2012.
Sue Reynolds has just been hired by the William S. Hart Union High School District as their new career development coordinator for the Hart District Career Center. Reynolds comes with a long resume of leadership positions business and volunteer circles.
Hart High School students displayed their work at the school’s annual art show this week, culminating up to a year of work in art classes.
The gallery, which was organized by Hart High art teacher Mary Ann Fragodt, featured a variety of student artwork selected by teachers from both the beginning and advanced two-dimensional art classes at the school.
