SCV Education Foundation To Award Student Enrichment Grants


The Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation will award 14 Student Enrichment Awards on Thursday, to teachers from across the valley's school districts.

Every year, the Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation honors local teachers who have a desire to go beyond the required curriculum to provide an innovative learning environment for students.

The 17th annual Student Enrichment Award ceremony will be held on Thursday at the Old Town Newhall Library at 4 p.m.

Teachers must apply and explain their educational vision to be considered for the award. Over the years, the SCV Education Foundation has awarded more than $550,000 in grants to teachers across the valley.

This year, they will award 14 grants for a total of $15,000.

The teachers requested tools such as educational DVDs, tablet computers, musical instruments and projectors.

The following teachers from local schools will receive the grants.

Grants are awarded in a variety of academic fields, including history/social science, visual or performing arts, physical education, technology and general education.
