“Every year, the school resource deputies and the juvenile detectives get together and welcome the kids to Magic Mountain for a dance,” said Deputy Tom Drake of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in an earlier interview, who is also a school resource officer for Saugus High. “It’s well chaperoned, and it’s a way for us to make positive contact with Santa Clarita Valley students.”

The event is for 8th through 12th grade students from Santa Clarita schools only and students must have their student ID to enter. Tickets will be sold at the back gate and the cost is $10 per student.

“It’s a pretty good turnout and the students have a lot of fun,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “It’s nice for the kids to be able to go to a dance with their friends from other (Santa Clarita) schools, which normally you can’t do.”

“It’s a big tradition here in this valley,” said Sue Carpenter, spokeswoman for Six Flags Magic Mountain, in an earlier interview. “We’re excited to be a big community partner with the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department in putting (the dance) on.”

The All Schools Dance, which is sponsored by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Foundation and Six Flags Magic Mountain, is scheduled for 7-11 p.m. March 14 at Six Flags’ back gate.

  1. Hi just your average normal SCV resident.

Love the post about the dance, just curious if you have any access to any form of calendar of 2018. I was extremely surprised to find out that March has two days that are the 14th! It’s so amazing how this universe works that you can have a Wednesday March 14th followed by an FRIDAY March 14! You would think that it be the 16th but hey who really knows God’s plan. Shout out to your editor for being on top of their game!!

The world is flat and 9+11= LIES.
