CARE Learning Academy, a Santa Clarita Valley summer program, recently had the opportunity in getting an up close and personal tour of the professional audiology center at Nola Aronson’s Advanced Audiology.
About three dozen children ranging from small children to teens all had the chance to see what involved in a modern day hearing test.
While the students asked questions in regards to what caused hearing loss, and in which circumstances would a patient have to wear a hearing aid.
“It’s a painless, comfortable process, and seeing it firsthand helps adults and children alike recognize that it’s not something to be feared,” said Aronson, owner of Advanced Audiology.
They also learned the job of an audiologist, as Aronson and her team have a combined 60 years of experience, and demonstrated the latest technology in digital hearing aid equipment and the advanced process of seeing inside someones ear.
“Definitely, the kids learned a lot,” said Lou Bautista, Center Director for CARE Learning. “We had one child whose dad actually goes to Nola, and we didn’t know that until we got there.”

Advanced Audiology has grown since establishing itself in 2010, opening two other branches in Santa Clarita and have become the community leaders of advanced technology and invisible solutions serving since 1987, according to a news release.
“We take a lot of pride in helping people hear better, because it can have a major impact on someone’s day to day quality of life,” Aronson said. “So, we like to invite groups to our office, kids and adults, and show them what it’s all about. Once they see and hear what it is we do, they develop a better understanding of hearing loss and hearing aids, and how much technology can improve people’s lives.”
