College Of The Canyons Water Refill Stations Save Thousands Of Plastic Bottles

College of the Canyons has eliminated 2,021 worth of plastic bottles since the installation of bottle refilling stations in Mentry Hall.

A refill stations is now located on all three levels of the building, thanks to funding and installment by the Facilities Department, the Associate Student Government for funding the fillers for the next five years to come, and the Sustainability Center staff and volunteers for doing the research and making presentations to get the project going.

The number of bottles saved per floor can be broken down as follows:

1st floor - 356

2nd floor - 907

3rd floor - 762

Mentry Hall houses Media Entertainment Arts, Architectural Drafting and Technology, Interior Design, Art, Graphic and Multimedia Design and Photography according to the Klassen Corporation website, which designed and built the 32,000 square foot expansion of the building that was completed before the Fall 2010 semester.
