Cyclist Hospitalized After Collision With SUV In Valencia

A 15-year-old bicyclist is in critical condition at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital after being struck by a 17-year-old in an SUV.

The cyclist was not wearing a helmet and sustained life-threatening injuries.

The crash occurred Wednesday at about 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fairview Drive and Waterford Drive in the Valencia-Northbridge tract.

The SUV driver was not injured.

Witnesses are asked to call Traffic Detective Travis Kelly at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, 661-255-1121.
