Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies found an adult male with multiple stab wounds on the 18100 block of Sundowner Way around 10:45 p.m., when they learned of a “possible stabbing victim,” according to a news release.
A preliminary investigation suggests the incident may be gang related.
Although multiple residents of the condo said crime is not uncommon to the area, residents said they were surprised by the murder.
“For this community, this is just not stuff that happens,” said a longtime resident who did not wish to be named. “It’s mostly families, but there are pockets of gang (members).”
Sheriff’s Department Homicide Detectives did not release any information regarding a possible suspect or suspects. Both are still considered “outstanding,” according to sheriff’s officials.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the victim lying on the ground, in the open, with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
