UPDATE: Suspected Forgery At Santa Clarita Bank Leads To Woman’s Arrest

A woman was handcuffed outside of a Santa Clarita bank on the 19400 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country on Wednesday, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were called to the location after a bank official reported a suspected forgery, said Sheriff’s Station Lt. Tom Byski.

Kristal Wendelsmith, 23, of Santa Clarita, was in custody for suspicion of false documents, according to Sheriff’s Department arrest records.

Sheriff’s Station deputies received the call at 5:46 p.m., Bryski said.

Wendelsmith is being held at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $50,000 bail as of Thursday morning.

She is expected at Los Angeles Superior Court in San Fernando on Friday.
