Two Arrested On Multiple Felony Charges After Routine Valencia Traffic Stop

A parolee and his driver were taken into custody Tuesday on several felony charges including drug sales after a routine Valencia traffic stop, officials said.

On Tuesday around 11 a.m., a deputy patrolling on McBean Parkway near Decoro Drive in Valencia observed a vehicle driving with a broken tail light, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The deputy conducted a traffic stop in order to warn/cite the driver,” Arriaga said.

While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the deputy learned the passenger was on active parole, according to officials.

“The deputy conducted a parole compliance search of the passenger and vehicle and recovered several individualized containers of narcotics, as well as drug paraphernalia and brass knuckles,” Arriaga said.

Upon contacting the driver the deputy recovered additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia during a search of her person and property, according to Arriaga.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
