Sara McConahay, 27, of Canyon Country, was released from custody Tuesday and the attempted murder charge against her was dismissed.

“The charges (against McConahay) were completely dismissed,” said Ricardo Santiago, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. “I don’t see an amended complaint.”

The man who was charged with her, Daniel Constantino, 20, of Canyon Country, is due back in court July 14 for a pretrial hearing.

He’s still facing an attempted murder charge, and being held in lieu of $1,090,000 bail at the Pitchess jail in Castaic.

Canyon Country resident Miguel Cid was stabbed outside of the Canyon Crest Apartment on Sept. 15.

McConahay was arrested Oct. 1 and released Monday.

Detectives suspected both of being in a dark-colored, late-1990s Chevy Impala parked alongside Cid’s car before he was stabbed.

“The issue was the ability to prove whether she was actually at the crime scene,” said Guy Shirley, the deputy district attorney in charge of the case’s prosecution, regarding the dismissed charges. “It’s an issue of identity. There was insufficient evidence to prove she was at the scene.”
