Vincent Carlos, 36 of Canyon Country, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Carlos allegedly approached a group of men who were outside of his home after 11 p.m. Thursday night, officials said.

We responded to the indicated location with a report of a man with a gun,” according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station reports. “Prior to our arrival, another deputy had contacted the victim.”

The victim reported that Carlos tapped him on the shoulder with a black and silver handgun, and demanded the victim’s cellphone, according to Sheriff’s Station records.

The victim ran away and contacted Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies, who responded with an aerial unit, as well as several deputies, believing a firearm was used on a resident.

Deputies conducted an investigation, interviewed several witnesses and then found Carlos in his residence.

He was arrested on the 18700 block of Mandan Street in Canyon Country, behind the movie theater.

Deputies later discovered an Airsoft BB gun in Carlos’ possession, which deputies believe was the weapon allegedly used.

Carlos is due at Los Angeles County Superior Court in San Fernando on Tuesday.
