Santa Clarita Valley Latino Chamber of Commerce CEO Bill Miranda will deliver the presentation “Hablando de Negocios: Talking Business” at the College of the Canyons Chancellor’s Circle Breakfast Briefing on Friday, March 8, at 7:30 a.m. The speech will help attendees learn how to better serve and embrace the Latino marketplace, the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population.
“Latinos are spending $1.2 trillion a year in the U.S. where we have the second largest Spanish speaking population in the world,” said Miranda. “Getting only a small piece of the market can boost sales and profits to another level. This presentation will get you started.”

In addition to building his own multi-million dollar computer company, Miranda has worked in the corporate world for more than 25 years, having trained management teams for IBM, Xerox and other fortune 500 companies. Miranda is a member of the College’s Chancellor’s Circle Committee.
Included in the presentation will be useful insights about:
- How best to communicate with the Latino customer base
- How attracting Latino customers can help grow your business, increase your sales and improve profits
- Demographics of the Latino market and how Latinos are the fastest growing purchasing population segment in the United States
The Chancellor’s Circle is a partnership between College of the Canyons and a diverse group of businesses, community members, non-profit groups, government leaders and others who are committed to strengthening the community by actively supporting strong partnerships.
The spring 2013 Breakfast Briefing will take place in the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center on COC’s Valencia campus. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m., followed by the morning’s main presentation at 8:15 a.m. Registration for the Chancellor’s Circle Breakfast Briefing is free for Chancellor’s Circle members and $15 for non-members. Tickets are available through the COC Foundation.All reservations must be received by Monday, March 4.
