The resource fair will be located at the college’s Valencia Campus Honor Grove from 12 to 2 p.m.

“The focus of this semester’s events is resiliency and how to overcome various challenges to our well being such as domestic violence, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse and other physical, mental and social health problems,” said Sheri Barke, sports and wellness dietitian at COC Student Health Center and one of the event organizers.

COC’s Student Nutrition and Wellness Advocates (SNAC) will present the “EveryBODY is Beautiful” fashion show featuring volunteer student models on the day of the event to help promote positive body image.

The first 250 people to visit 10 resource tables at the fair will receive free food from Kogi BBQ truck.

Fair attendees will have the opportunity to help out the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Child and Family Center by donating toiletries, grocery store gift cards, new clothing and cleaning products to the Gamma Beta Phi club booth.

Attendees will also have the chance to attribute to the national Clothesline Project by purchasing a Clothesline Project pin or by decorating a T-shirt in the name of a victim or survivor of domestic violence.

The resource fair is meant to give a preview of the lectures to come in the following months.

A series of guest speakers will be giving lectures throughout November to discuss the following topics:

  • Life After Domestic Violence

  • Life After Incarceration

  • Life After Loss

  • Life After Drugs/Alcohol

  • Life After Sex

  • Life After Eating Disorder

  • Life After War

  • Life After Diagnosis

The resource fair is free and open to the public.
