College of the Canyons is expected to host a variety of activities on Homecoming Weekend on Friday, Nov. 1 and Sat. Nov. 2. The Homecoming Weekend is expected to feature the induction of the 2013 Outstanding Alumni & Friends into the college’s Alumni Hall of Fame, a special pre-show reception for the Official Blues Brothers Revue show at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) and a tailgate party to celebrate the Cougar football team’s homecoming game.

“We have a weekend filled with fun, football, a reception honoring alumni, the Blues Brothers, and tailgating. We had so much fun preparing for this celebration,” said Michele Edmonson, director of development for the college’s Foundation. 

 The Homecoming weekend is expected to culminate with the induction of the 2013 Outstanding Alumni & Friends into the college’s Alumni Hall of Fame on Friday, Nov.1 at Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center lobby from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. .  This year’s honorees include Diane Ayres, Brian Koegle and Yolanda Morton of Morton Manufacturing.

 The Official Blue Brothers Revue show is expected to perform at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 1.  The Official Blues Brothers Revue comedy act is expected to perform  classic hits including Soul Man, Rubber Biscuit, Sweet Home Chicago and much more. The show will feature Academy Award winner Dan Akyroyd and Jim Belushi.

 A meet-and-greet complimentary pre-show reception and discounted tickets to the Official Blues Brothers Revue show will be available. Alumni can purchase tickets for $36 each by calling the PAC Box Office.  

 Cougar football fans will be able to celebrate before the college’s homecoming game against the Moorpark College Raiders on Saturday, Nov. 2 with a tailgate party.

 The party is expected to begin at 4 p.m. with a no-host-bar reception in the Cougar Den, located on the college’s Valencia campus.

 Tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for children and students, include a catered meal, drink and entrance to the game at 6 p.m. in Cougar Stadium
