The fair is free to attend, and will be held at the Valencia campus’ Student Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The fair is hosted by officials with the campus’ Service-Learning Program.
The fair will bring in agencies that will get the chance to promote their cause, while students and community members get the opportunity to volunteer.
“This is a great way for our students to put into practice what they have learned in the classroom while also giving back to the community,” said Kimberle Arredondo, Service-Learning technician and event organizer.
Students also get the chance to choose volunteer opportunities based around their career goals and college classes.
“The Non-Profit Fair will offer something for everyone,” said Anthony Michaelides, director of career services at COC.
“Faculty members get the chance to meet with each agency to determine which might be a good fit or tie to their curriculum, so that the service-learning experience can be a rewarding one for their students,” he said.
Some of the organizations set to attend this year’s fair include: SCV Senior Center, HandsOn Santa Clarita, Habitat for Humanity, SCV Economic Development Corporation, Neighborhood Legal Services, Providence Tattoo Removal Clinic, Domestic Violence Center of SCV, SCVi Charter School, Samuel Dixon Health Clinic, Northeast Valley Health Corporation, and Roze Room Hospice.
The Non-Profit Fair is open to the public.
